Sapotek, which main product is Desktoptwo, is seriously considering to send Desktoptwo to OpenSource. For those who don’t know about Desktoptwo, it’s a WebOS application that mimics the real desktop of a PC, it has e-mail, storage, and so on. Take a look at: http://www.sapotek.com or http://desktoptwo.com for more info.
Now, let’s see this new project at a glance,
Sapotek will give open access to all of its Flas’s, AS classes, and server services, everything included. So, every geek could set up its own desktoptwo service.
What’s most important is:
Sapotek will lead a development community, anyone can create any new application ‘ala’ SourceForge, and then, he will get its own full configured development server, with development and project management tools like:
Flash development Toolkit
So, you could test your application on-line, as if it where part of desktoptwo. If your application is good enuff it could be part of the main desktoptwo set of free online tools.
This is still in an alpha stage, and there’re plans to launch it next year.
So, there’re some questions about this:
Is this of any interest for you?
Would you like to develop any application for desktoptwo?
What would it be about?
I really appreciate your comments, thanks in advance
